FAQ
What do I wear to a massage treatment?
Wear comfortable clothing, preferably nothing too tight. Elastic waistbands are helpful too. Usually, clients strip down to their underwear for their treatment, or leave their trousers on. Underwear must be worn during your treatment; otherwise, a disposable g-string can be provided for you.
Avoid wearing shapewear for your appointment, as remedial massage involves towel draping, with the towel tucked into your underwear. Shapewear can make this process difficult and uncomfortable. Regular underwear is best for a smooth and comfortable treatment.
Is remedial massage painful?
Remedial massage can sometimes be uncomfortable, especially when addressing deep-seated tension or trigger points, but it should never be unbearably painful. Massage should ease into the depth required, adjusting to your comfort level.
Ultimately, the treatment is about you: what you need and what will be most effective for your body. Success depends on your ability to relax, so excessive pain would be counterproductive. If anything feels too intense, pressure is the easiest thing to change. Massage can be adjusted to keep your treatment both effective and comfortable.
Will I feel sore after a remedial massage?
Some people experience mild soreness, similar to post-exercise muscle fatigue. This is normal and should subside within a day or two. Staying hydrated and mobile (gentle movement) can help.
Is the Hot Stones add-on eligible for a private health rebate?
No, it isn't. However, because the Hot Stones add-on is something you can add into your treatment and not a whole service on its own, you may still be eligible for a private health rebate for your remedial massage treatment (if your insurance covers remedial massage).
Can I get a remedial massage if I'm pregnant?
Yes (unless advised otherwise by your medical team), but it’s extremely important to communicate this at the time of your booking. Pregnancy massage techniques are used to ensure your comfort and safety, usually after the first trimester.

Do I need to bring anything to my appointment?
No, just yourself. If you have any relevant medical information, such as scans or reports, you’re welcome to bring them, but they’re not required.
