The Mythicarium

The Mythicarium is a space for deep listening, creativity, and symbolic connection. It’s part art workshop and part storytelling salon; where short stories are read aloud while you create your own artworks.
These sessions are not about technical skill. Whether you’re a practicing artist, a curious creative, or someone who hasn’t picked up a pencil in years, you are welcome here.
Your artwork doesn’t have to be finished. It might even be the start of something larger, like a study, a plan, or a feeling you want to follow later.
What to Expect
Each session centres around a curated short story (or a collection), from stories in the public domain, often drawn from literature, folklore, or gothic fiction. These stories are performed aloud by the Storyteller, while you make art inspired by them.
We pause briefly midway for tea and a moment to breathe. There’s no pressure to share or explain your work. The focus is on process, not product.
The Mythicarium is open for 2 hours at a time. Here is the structure:
- Introduction, tea-making, & story context (15 mins)
- Storytelling & artmaking (45 mins)
- Tea, coffee, snack break (15 mins)
- Storytelling & artmaking (45 mins)
- And finally, the Mythicarium will come to a close.
All materials are provided, including charcoals, pencils, acrylic pens, collage supplies. You are welcome to bring your own, if you’d prefer. No paints, please.

Why Stories?
Stories can speak to something deep and ancient in us. They connect us to our shared heritage as humans, and maybe, when we make art from that place, we connect to ourselves differently. We listen and imagine, and hopefully remember something ephemeral.
The Mythicarium is for that. Come with curiosity, leave with something you didn’t know you needed.
Spaces are limited. Reserve your ticket now.
Can I read the stories from previous Mythicarium?
Yes, you can. Stories from every Mythicarium session are posted on the blog, and they're also collated here:
